“Prophetic word or no’,” Iain thought, “I will run with her if she asks, prophetic word or no.”
In the year of our Lord 1745, all hell breaks loose when a clash between loyal Jacobites of Scotland & the English crown puts Clan Cameron on the path that leads to the disastrous Battle of Culloden. Three young Scottish men are making their way home, when on a lonely hillside, unearthly powers & cataclysmic choices test the very edges of their souls and alter their lives eternally. A ghostly piper delivers his prophecy. The message was clear... a sacrifice will be required. So great were the reverberations of these sacrifices that the ripples will be felt in the ancestral DNA centuries later.
In 2016, a connection is discovered by three strangers. Kenzie, Chumani & Rhianna Jo agree to meet each other sensing to their very souls the tingle of something long past. While exploring the enchanted streets of historical Charleston & whimsical Folly Beach, together they embark on a journey of friendship, personal healing, and most importantly, belief that they have been co-opted to share a magical quest. Little did they know that their lives would be upended by the same magic and terrifying choices as their ancestors, sending them careening headlong towards a collision with 18th century Scotland.

Reviews
“The epic novel The Piper & The Prophecy seamlessly transports the reader from the mid-1700s into the early 2000s and captures the essence, trials, and emotions of life in Scotland into the imposing American Appalachian Mountains then down to the majestic South Carolina Lowcountry vistas.
The authors’ attention to the smallest details about the women, their environment and culture capture what it must’ve been like to have lived through the times and challenges the reader will never truly experience.
I highly recommend The Piper & The Prophecy to anyone who has more than a tangential interest in history, a love for stories that immerse the reader into the life and times of complex characters, and an appreciation of how magic can be a real part of human nature.”

The Shopkeeper and the Song
It was still dark as the old man moved quietly up High Street. Graeme MacMartin looked around furtively as he turned down one of the ancient wynds just off the Royal Mile. With practiced familiarity, he navigated the maze of narrow streets and alleyways of Old Town, Edinburgh without thinking. Presently he found himself standing in front of a small stone shop. The medieval wrought-iron sign hanging from brackets read Taigh nan Caramh. The old man smiled slightly - House of Curiosities. “Noo, if that is nae an understatement,” he whispered. Placing the brass barrel key into the lock and letting himself in, he briefly surveyed his wares that ranged from old jewelry, period clothing, manuscripts, and 16th century apothecary paraphernalia. He nodded, pleased with himself. Everything looked as it should.
The small but very perceptible change in the air remained as he first noticed it the day before...a small hum, one might describe it. The anticipation had kept him awake most of the night. Och, I am an auld mon and require less sleep than I did when I was a braw lad. For the time that he had been waiting, seemingly for centuries, was drawing nigh. And so, he set about the preparations. The calfskin leather book lay on the counter. Getting out his quill and ink, he began to set down the things that they were going to need to know but in a slightly more modern English than he was used to writing. He would be ready and waiting for them when they arrived. Graeme closed the book with a sigh. Soon, the time would come to contact Effie. He would need her help. The journey was about to begin…
